Paphos golfer’s association was formed in 2006 to provide reasonable priced golf for people who could not justify the expense of joining one of the four clubs in the Paphos region. We take the golf seriously but very much with fun in mind, catering for both Ladies and Gentlemen. The Association holds 2 PGA handicap qualifying competitions a month, plus several other opportunities a month to put in a qualifying card, should the need arise. The medal competition is held on the first Sunday of the month and is normally held at one of the four courses in the Paphos area, but around half are held at our home club Elea GC, we also hold a Mid-Month Medal, held on the third Sunday of the month, all are held at Elea GC, at this competition you can choose which tee to play off, and be able to pick a early or late tee time. As several of our members are off peak members at Elea GC we arrange games on a Tuesday, Friday and early Sunday mornings (except when we play an official PGA competition), these are normally team games, and you will be able to play as a guest.

Each year we hold a Chairman’s and Captain’s Day, which include a golf competition followed by a meal, either on the day, or the following day. We also arrange various social events during the year which members may wish to attend, spouses and partners are also welcome.

We became members of the Cyprus Golf Federation in 2008 and all the associations members will be given an EGA handicap.

Once you have joined you will receive a membership card, and an Association polo shirt. At the present time we have vacancies for anyone with an official handicap of 36 or less, if no handicap certificate you will need to perform one qualifying round achieving a handicap of 36 or less. The PGA financial year runs from January to December, there is a one-off joining fee of €50 and an annual subscription of €50 (In addition €50 is required to pay for your membership to the Cyprus Golf Federation), the annual subscription €50 is on a pro-rata scale dependent on when you join.

The committee at the present time is:

Chairman Alan Betchley,  Secretary Mark Watson,  Handicap Secretary Paul Major,  Treasurer Alan Betchley,  Captain Mike Andrews.  Vice Captain Craig Nixon,  Social Secretary Dave Wiseman
