Following the devastating and deadly earthquakes in Turkey and Syria of February of this year, where amongst the many fatalities a lot of our Turkish Cypriot compatriots also perished, and thousands became homeless, the CGF has callied upon all of our member clubs for a drive to collect money for the victims.

All funds raised will be offered to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in support of their Emergency Appeals MDRTR004 and MDRSY009.

The CGF Board decided to add €1,000 to any funds generated from our member clubs' fund-raising drives with instructions to IFRC for the funds generated to be used for both appeals.

The following clubs which we greatly thank, have so far generated funds for the appeal:

1. Ayios Nicolaos - over €300 generated and left with Pendayia GC

2. Joint Services Golf Club (Dhekelia) - €380

3. Minthis Golf Club - €330
